Hiya there and how have you been this week??
Well - I have so nearly caught up with myself, just another week and I
reckon and I'll be back
to normal - whatever normal used to be !
I sat down at my computer last Sunday to play the PokerStars Sunday WarmUp
- I hadn't
played this, my favourite tourney, for about a month and I was well looking
forward to it -
So I clicked into the lobby ONLY to find that they have suspended it due
to the WCOOP series -
(World Cup of Online Poker) and the next one isn't until 28th September
!!!
Ya boo sucks - So I clocked into PartyPoker really quickly to play a one-table,
first place gains
entry to their 5.45pm tournament, but unfortunately, I came second, I
got my money back but
no qualification !
I've tried a few times to qualify for this Sunday's PartyPoker tournament
with no success so far
- I did play in a $55 tournament the other night and came 74th out of
900 players, so I won about
$125 and a nice small profit but still - for me - the Sunday 5.45pm
is THE one that I love !

I still haven't managed to find time to sit down and watch some Poker
on Television so I was
looking around YouTube to find you a cracker of a hand and as I was searching,
I came across
3 amazing hands - all featuring Daniel Negreanu.
The one thing that these 3 hands have in common is that Daniel Negreanu
seems to be psychic -
he can almost 'see' what the other player is holding and therefore makes
the most amazing
laydowns... ones I'm not sure I could have made.

Hand No. 1
Player Joens limps in with 7h and 2h
Daniel is next with 9d and 9c - he raises.
Lon McEarhan commentating: "Nobody gets a cheap card around
here !"
Peter Antill is next to act and he picks up 4c and 4s and he decides to
call.
Player Stucke calls the raise with Kd and 10s - very loose !
Back around to Joens who calls the raise with his 'hammer'.
The odds of winning pre-flop are:
Stucke: 33%
Antill: 16%
Negreanu: 36%
Joens: 15%
The Flop comes down: 2s 4h 6d
Stucke checks - he's drawing dead.
Adam Joens raises to 2800
Daniel decides to find out where he's at and re-raises it up to 10,300
Antill is next to act - he's got trips - he coolly asks Daniel:
"10,300???"
He looks at Daniel and stares and then decides to call.
If you watch the video, you'll see that Daniel is not only staring at
Antill, but positively boring
into his mind as he notes every single hair on his head and how his body
language seems to be.
Stucke & Joens both fold.
The Turn is 8s
Daniel checks.
Norman Chad: "And Daniel slows down, I believe Daniel not only
has a sixth sense, but a seventh
and eighth sense!"
Antill checks too - he's obviously trying to trap Daniel by pretending
he's fishing or he's not sure if
he has the best hand...
The River comes down: 8h
You can see Daniel thinking about it deeply - he checks.
Antill hesitates for a moment and bets out 15,000.
Immediately, Daniel imitates his australian accent and says: "Make
it 15,000 with pocket 6's
or pocket 4's which one is it??"
Then he repeats: "Pocket 6's or 4's Quick??? "
Peter answers: "Take your pick" but he won't look Daniel
in the eyes.
Daniel: "It's either one - it can't be either one buddy - Pocket
6's or Pocket 4's - WHICH ONE??
But why would you check the Turn? You bet the Turn, I just gonna fold
- I really was - I was
just gonna give it to him - he had to have 6's or 4's but... 15,000 and
there's a gizillion in there...
I'm going to fold... the second-best hand!"
Norman Chad: "Daniel is the only player at the table who has
access to the other players' hole
cards."

What Daniel also does is to force bets onto people, he will make them
have to make decisions
and he can then put them on a hand - remember those old flow chart questions...
you know
the ones...
Does it have two or four legs?? If you answer two, then you follow one
path, if you answer four
then you follow the other path and so on until eventually - the answer
HAS to be one of the
examples at the bottom of the page...
i.e. - does it have spots or stripes??
Spots - it's a leopard and Stripes - it's a tiger -
Well - if the other person re-raises he has (a) and if he calls he has
(b) - so he MAKES the
other person answer his question and deducts what the other person's hand
should be ...
Easy when you know how huh??
Now - knowing this knowledge - one has to go and put it into practice...
easier said than done
